Carbon County Bookmobile

We have loved serving all of you in Carbon County. As we close up our operations we will pack up many wonderful memories and take them with us forever. Our collection is available for you to check out at the Helper City Library. Libraries make a difference in people's lives every day and your local officials are putting plans in place to make sure you have access to library services. Read on!

Due to budget constraints for Carbon County, the Bookmobile contract with Utah State Library has ended but other services remain available.

County residents without convenient access to a local library can still download materials through Utah’s Online Library. This includes tens of thousands of books, as well as magazines, academic articles, government publications, audio and video, and more. Carbon County Bookmobile library card accounts have been transferred to Helper City Library and can also be used in Utah’s Online Library.

Carbon County officials will also develop a remote library transport plan in partnership with Pinnacle Canyon Academy. Books will be delivered from the Helper City Library to other city halls in the county, where patrons can retrieve their books. Additionally, Carbon School District will keep school libraries open during the summer for students.

The Bookmobile has served Carbon County for over 50 years and the Utah State Library knows there are people that will deeply miss this service. The Utah State Library expressly wishes to thank Judy Moore, who has been the bookmobile librarian for several years. We also appreciate the local leaders who have worked tirelessly to provide a practical solution that will help so many people in the area.
